Riho muttered, “What a pain.” She was about to leave.

“Where you goin’?” Eug asked.

“I’m gonna cash in these killer piranha bones, then wander around for a bit…and I guess probably help them prep later. You, Eug?”

“Gotta few people to check in on, I suppose. Are you, like, hard up for cash?”

“Uh, no, not really… It’s more like old habits die hard at this point. Why?”

“That gauntlet’s mithril, right? I was thinking of buying it off you. Obviously, I’d heal the limb underneath pro bono…but no pressure. Just lemme know if you feel like it. Since you’re Alka’s friend, you can name your price.”

“You want my arm?”

“Mithril’s a valuable resource. And if your arm’s working right, you don’t need it, do you?”

A gauntlet, huh?

Something about this felt off to Riho. She elected to avoid answering for now.

“I dunno if being friends with her would work for me or against me. Maybe some other time.”

Eug didn’t press the point. “Cool. Not in a hurry on my end, either. See you around!”

She fluttered her fingers, flicked the sucker to the other end of her mouth, and left.

“…………She can heal me, huh?”

Could dwarves tell the exact condition of the flesh and blood arm underneath? Just by looking? Riho watched Eug go for a moment, then turned and headed for the materials exchange.
